Bioglandin Injection, also known as Alprostadil Injection, contains the active ingredient alprostadil, which is a synthetic form of prostaglandin E1 (PGE1). It is primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men who have not responded to other treatments. Alprostadil works by relaxing smooth muscle tissue in the blood vessels of the penis, allowing for increased blood flow into the penis, which can lead to an erection. It is administered directly into the penis through an injection, usually into the side or base of the penis.
