Before knowing about the Gang Box, learn some things that apply to all types of a weatherproof electrical box.
• With the front edge flush with the finished surface of the wall or ceiling, an electrical box needs to be installed. A box extender should be installed if the space between the finished surface and the edge of the box is greater than 1/8.
• All boxes need to be accessible. With paneling, other wall coverings or drywall never cover a box.
