A heart attack is a life-threatening issue that occurs when the blood circulation to the cardiac muscle is suddenly stopped, causing the cardiac muscle to suffer damage. If this condition is not treated then it could stop the circulation of blood and oxygen to the heart or lead to the death of heart muscles. When a major portion of the heart is compromised, the heart may stop functioning, resulting in death, which is also called cardiac arrest.
